U.S. stocks eked out gains Thursday on the back of a rebound in energy shares as the bull market quietly marked its unofficial eighth birthday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average
rose 2.46 points to close at 20,858.19, while the S&P 500 index
edged up 1.89 points to finish at 2,364.87, and the Nasdaq Composite Index
added 1.25 points to end at 5,838.81.

In the super-regional banks that are not money center banks, Regions Financial Corp. (NYSE: RF) was up 6.3% at $13.22, and Zions Bancorporation (NASDAQ: ZION) was last seen up 3.8% at $38.30. They would both do better with lower regulatory costs and be able to better compete against larger banks when their stress test results had not been as strong.

United Natural Foods, Inc. (NASDAQ: UNFI) reported better-than-expected earnings for its fourth quarter on Monday. United Natural Foods shares gained 1.51 percent to $42.45 in the after-hours trading session.
Wall Street expects Radiant Logistics Inc (NYSE: RLGT) to post quarterly earnings at $0.03 per share on revenue of $202.06 million after the closing bell. Radiant Logistics shares rose 3.68 percent to close at $3.10 on Monday.
Anadarko Petroleum Corporation (NYSE: APC) announced the acquisition of Freeport-McMoRan Inc (NYSE: FCX)’s deepwater Gulf of Mexico assets for $2 billion. The company also reported an offering of 35.25 million shares of common stock. Anadarko Petroleum shares dropped 2.92 percent to $56.10 in the after-hours trading session.

The partnership will integrate Vanke’s property development and BYD’s cloud rail, providing a solution for urban development.
