The gaming space has a reputation for beingdominated by male gamers and full of big-budget combat and action orientated games geared for men. However, thats not necessarily the case. Top 10 Tech Stocks To Watch For 2018: Microsoft Corporation(MSFT)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Elizabeth Balboa]

The primary WannaCry tool was a modified form of spyware purportedly developed by the National Security Agency and stolen by the hacker group, Shadow Brokers, back in March. The Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) exploit played on Windows system vulnerabilities over an old and outdated protocol used to share files across computers.

While you might think you’re buying the next Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) or Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT), there’s also a chance you’re buying the next Fitbit (FIT) or drkoop.com. In case you’re wondering, things didn’t end very well for investors in drkoop.com’s IPO, which reached a valuation of more than $1 billion following its 1999 IPO. Drkoop.com was eventually sold for $186,000 in bankruptcy court in 2002. Fitbit investors fared slightly better, but shares have still declined approximately 70% from its IPO price of $20.00 as the company’s sales growth and profitability declined.  Not a total wash but to put that into perspective,  take a look at the  S&P 500 (SPX) which returned almost 10% during the same time period.

When you think of tech companies which rejected buyout offers, quite a few not so great stories come to mind. Starting with Yahoo (NSDQ:YHOO), whichrejectedMicrosoft’s (NSDQ:MSFT)$44.6 billion offer, to Groupon (NSDQ:GRPN), which shunned Google’s $6 billion buyout offer, many similar decisions have proven to be bad ones in hindsight. Snapchat is one of those few exceptions that have lived to tell the tale. At least for now. However, Facebookseems rather determined to leave no stone unturned in its fight against Snapchat.

  • [By WWW.FOOL.COM]

Shopify(NYSE:SHOP)stock has been on a tear, rocketing up over 180% since the company went public in May of 2015. The company’s business model is pretty simple: Sign up merchants, charge merchants to use its platform, help merchants sell stuff, and take a small percentage from each sale. Then, rinse and repeat at alarger scale with more profitability. Shopify is executing this strategy extremely well, posting strong third quarter 2016 results with record growth in total merchants, sales volume, and revenue.

  • [By WWW.MONEYSHOW.COM]

Shopify (SHOP) is especially designed for small and medium-sized businesses. It is based in Ottawa, Canada.

I like this stock recommendation because this is a young company that focuses on providing on-line marketing solutions at a reasonable price for small and mid-size companies.

Chips from Texas Instruments (TXN) are built into a lot of devices that matter, Cramer said, and if investors want autonomous vehicles, they should be looking at Analog Devices (ADI) .

  • [By Laurie Kulikowski]

We rate TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INC as a Buy with a ratings score of A+. This is based on the convergence of positive investment measures, which should help this stock outperform the majority of stocks that we rate. The company’s strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its largely solid financial position with reasonable debt levels by most measures, notable return on equity, good cash flow from operations, solid stock price performance and expanding profit margins. Although the company may harbor some minor weaknesses, we feel they are unlikely to have a significant impact on results.

  • [By Jim Cramer]

Current return on equity exceeded its ROE from the same quarter one year prior. This is a clear sign of strength within the company. When compared to other companies in the Semiconductors & Semiconductor Equipment industry and the overall market, TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INC’s return on equity exceeds that of the industry average and significantly exceeds that of the S&P 500.

  • [By Keith Speights]

That’s a pretty good definition of leadership, but it’s not an easy one to accomplish. However, the CEOs of Celgene (NASDAQ:CELG), Cognizant Technology Solutions (NASDAQ:CTSH), General Electric (NYSE:GE), MasterCard (NYSE:MA), and Texas Instruments (NASDAQ:TXN) have been able to achieve this translation very well.
