The challenge for REITs in 2018 is that higher interest rates are likely to impact share price performance; however, to combat market conditions, many REITs are beginning to announce dividend increases.

So far in 2018, REITs have under-performed, causing shares to decline and dividend yields to increase. Many of our favorite companies have announced full year 2017 results, validating the argument that the market has over-reacted to rising rates.
