Renewable energy is set to go from strength to strength in coming years and it will be generating 50% of global electricity by 2050, according to one of the most authoritative voices in clean energy.

However, President Trump&a;rsquo;s battle to save the coal industry looks doomed, with coal-powered generation set to make up just 11% of global electricity generation by the middle of the century, down from 38% today, according to Bloomberg New Energy Finance.

Its New Energy Outlook (NEO) 2018 says that the continuing fall in the cost of batteries will massively increase the ability the ability to store off-peak electricity and sell it when demand is high, which will enable renewable technologies &a;ndash; particularly wind and solar projects – to take an increasing share of the electricity market. This will create a $548 billion battery market, with total investment in clean energy between now and 2050 set to reach $11.5 trillion.

The recent earning announcement on May 31, 2017 created sudden fear in the public’s mind and brought the stock price of Michael Kors (NYSE:KORS) down by around 9% in one day. As of this writing, the price remains at $33. In this article, I will discuss one negative and five positives, and explain why you should consider buying the stock at this low price.

One Negative

One negative, but a big one, that dragged down the stock price was the earning disappointment mainly driven by the macroeconomic situations in retail sector.

The entire retail sector has faced strong headwinds in recent years due to the emergence of online retailers (predominantly Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN)), a strong dollar and a reduced number of tourists shopping in the U.S. The affected companies include Macy’s (NYSE:M), JCPenny (NYSE:JCP), Coach (NYSE:COH), Michael Kors, etc. The negative trends have driven down the stock price of the affected companies significantly in recent years, and the concern is legitimate in general,

Moving from the over-the-counter (OTC) exchange to a more reputable exchange like the Nasdaq allowed for improved liquidity, as well as cleared the way for institutional investors to take a position in Cronos Group. So, Why Else Do the Pundits Hate Annuity Commissions?

The IRS and the Treasury Department must issue immediate guidance on 39 areas of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act to clarify “entity structure, retirement, wealth transfer and a vast number of other tax planning issues,” Annette Nellen, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ Tax Executive Committee chairwoman, urged the IRS and Treasury on Monday.

In her letter to David Kautter, assistant secretary for Treasury’s Tax Policy Department, and William Paul, the IRS’ deputy chief counsel, Kellen said that the two entities must shed light on various areas to help taxpayers and practitioners comply with their 2017 tax obligations.

The IRS did not return a call for comment by press time.

Nellen’s letter highlights three areas of particular concern:

Nellen further explained that under Section 199A(d)(2), Deduction for Qualified Business Income, more guidance is needed on the meaning of specified service trade or business as defined in the section “namely, any trade or business involving the performance of services in the fields of health, law, accounting, actuarial science, performing arts, consulting, athletics, financial services, brokerage services, or any trade or business where the principal asset of such trade or business is the reputation or skill of 1 or more of its employees or owners, or any trade or business which involves the performance of services that consist of investing and investment management, trading, or dealing in securities, partnership interests or commodities.”

Top 5 Stocks To Buy For 2018: Core Laboratories N.V.(CLB)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Taylor Muckerman]

Muckerman: I can go. That’ll work. One company I’m paying close attention to is Core Labs (NYSE:CLB). They’re based out of the Netherlands, but they have their U.S., maybe global, headquarters in Houston. This is a premier company that’s involved in reservoir description and enhancement services. So, when you’re looking at a well, they can basically recreate the well in their lab and tell you exactly what kind of fluid, what kind of proppants, what kind of chemicals, what kind of pressure. They can tell you exactly how to get the most bang for your buck. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth it in the long run. And this company is just continually buying back shares with their money. They generate tons of free cash flow.

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

Mar Vista Investment Partners LLC decreased its holdings in shares of Core Laboratories (NYSE:CLB) by 4.4% during the 1st quarter, HoldingsChannel.com reports. The firm owned 368,372 shares of the oil and gas company’s stock after selling 16,913 shares during the period. Core Laboratories makes up approximately 1.6% of Mar Vista Investment Partners LLC’s investment portfolio, making the stock its 28th largest holding. Mar Vista Investment Partners LLC’s holdings in Core Laboratories were worth $39,865,000 at the end of the most recent quarter.

  • [By ]

America’s oil renaissance is powered almost exclusively by technology, as companies like Schlumberger (SLB) and Core Labs (CLB) are breathing new life into once forgotten wells. Nucor (NUE) has a similar leadership position in the steel industry thanks to technology, and that company will only benefit more that President Trump’s tariffs put the market on a more level playing field.

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Reuben Gregg Brewer]

My timing, however, isn’t always so good, and I sometimes get in too early. But owning a great dividend-paying company at a fair price is better than owning a bad company at any price. Which is why I’m happy to have bought U.S. utility giant The Southern Company (NYSE:SO) and healthcare real estate investment trust (REIT) Ventas, Inc. (NYSE:VTR). And I’ll be just as happy if they fall further from here.

Boeing’s big news for the week came on Wednesday. Reports indicated that U.S. carrier Hawaiian Airlines had canceled an order for six Airbus A330-800s and would be placing an order for an unspecified number of Boeing 787-9s. The canceled Airbus planes were the last six on Airbus’s order book and that made them easier for Hawaiian to shun. No one wants to buy the last of something that has a lifespan of 25 or more years.

Top 10 Performing Stocks For 2018: Haier Electronics Group Co., Ltd. (HRELF)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By SEEKINGALPHA.COM]

The main business units of the Hong Leong Asia are the Diesel Engines Unit – China Yuchai , the Consumer Products Unit – Henan Xinfei (now marketed as “Frestec”), and the Building Materials Unit – BMU. The other business units in the company are the Industrial Packaging Unit – Rex and the Air-conditioning Systems Unit – Airwell. As the majority of the business units namely Yuchai, Xinfei and Airwell, operate in China (more than 80% of total revenue), the continual slowdown of the economic growth in China coupled with increasing competition has adversely affected both the revenue and the profitability. Particularly for the consumer products unit, its small scale has severely impacted its competitiveness given aggressive larger players like Haier (OTCPK:HRELF), Midea, Feilong Electric, and Hefei Meiling.

  • [By SEEKINGALPHA.COM]

    2. Appliance Sale – This is another operating segment that the company did not consider core to its business, so management sold the segment to Haier (OTCPK:HRELF) for over $5b. The benefit: Additional capital can be allocated to the core operational areas.
