Top 10 Blue Chip Stocks To Buy Right Now

If you are interested in owning one of the bluest-chip companies on the planet while generating a 15 percent annualized return over the next five years, then Nestlé (NSRGY) is just the stock for you.

At least that is what legendary hedge fund manager Dan Loeb of Third Point Capital thinks, provided Nestlé is willing to heed his words of advice.

I think Mr. Loeb may be just the kick in the pants this great old company needs right now.

Let me explain…

Nestlé — 152 Birthday Candles And Counting

Nestlé is an absolute juggernaut of a business. It has a market capitalization (number of shares outstanding multiplied by the share price) of nearly $240 billion which places the company on the edge of being one of the ten largest companies on the planet.

This is a blue, blue, blue chip if there ever was one.

Nestlé has its base of operations in Vevey, Switzerland. The company had been around for quite some time — 152 years to be exact. I guess you could say that the business has proved to have some staying power.

Hot Low Price Stocks To Watch For 2019

For years, Toys “R” Us was an American success story.

Now the discount toy retailer is in its final chapter. The company filed for bankruptcy in September. On Wednesday, Toys “R” Us told employees that it would close or sell all its stores in the United States.

It’s an ignominious end for the company that was once the toy industry’s powerhouse. In the second half of the 20th century, just after the Baby Boom, Toys “R” Us grew into a dominant retail chain thanks to its low prices and a knack for keeping the nation’s hottest toys in stock.

“Toys ‘R’ Us, Big Kid on the Block, Won’t Stop Growing,” a Wall Street Journal headline blared in 1988.

It all started in 1948, when Charles Lazarus, age 25, opened a baby furniture store called Children’s Bargain Town in Washington, D.C. He knew Americans returning from World War II were starting families and needed somewhere to stock up on nursery decor.

But before long, Lazarus discovered that the real money was not in cribs, but in toys.

Hot Low Price Stocks To Watch For 2019: NXP Semiconductors N.V.(NXPI)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By ]

As one would expect, shares of ZTE’s U.S. optical component suppliers rose sharply after President Trump signaled that a deal to end a recently-imposed ban on U.S. parts sales to the Chinese phone and telecom equipment giant is in the works. And NXP Semiconductors (NXPI) posted a double-digit gain after Chinese regulators (probably not coincidentally) announced that they’re restarting their review of Qualcomm’s (QCOM) $44 billion deal to buy the Dutch chipmaker.

  • [By Ethan Ryder]

Commerzbank Aktiengesellschaft FI trimmed its stake in shares of NXP Semiconductors (NASDAQ:NXPI) by 9.3% in the first quarter, according to its most recent Form 13F filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The fund owned 32,273 shares of the semiconductor provider’s stock after selling 3,324 shares during the quarter. Commerzbank Aktiengesellschaft FI’s holdings in NXP Semiconductors were worth $3,776,000 as of its most recent filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

  • [By ]

To be fair, M&A concerns appear to be playing some role in the selloff. The unwillingness of Chinese regulators to sign off on either the Qualcomm (QCOM) /NXP (NXPI) deal or a Bain Capital-led deal to buy Toshiba’s flash memory unit has stoked fears that the chip industry’s M&A wave will be halted until trade tensions between the U.S. and China ease.

  • [By Joseph Griffin]

NXP Semiconductors (NASDAQ:NXPI) saw unusually-strong trading volume on Monday . Approximately 23,163,579 shares changed hands during mid-day trading, an increase of 344% from the previous session’s volume of 5,213,280 shares. The stock last traded at $110.74 and had previously closed at $110.74.

  • [By Paul Ausick]

The offer has two caveats. First, Qualcomm’s bid for NXP Semiconductor N.V. (NASDAQ: NXPI) must either be completed at that price or rejected. Second, Qualcomm may not delay or cancel its scheduled annual meeting set for March 6.

  • [By Trey Thoelcke]

NXP Semiconductors N.V. (NASDAQ: NXPI) will report its most recent quarterly results after the close on Wednesday. The consensus estimates call for $1.68 in EPS and $2.35 billion in revenue. Shares were last seen trading at $105.40, in a 52-week range of $100.23 to $125.93. The consensus price target is $119.65.
