As you can see in the weekly chart below, the stock has traded in fairly volatile fashion within a pretty wide range ever since about October of last year. However, nothing has really fundamentally changed all that much with the Company since it went on a tear months ago. Actually, things have gotten a bit better

A steep slowdown in demand from cryptocurrency miners is tempering enthusiasm for what in many ways is a strong Nvidia (NVDA)  earnings report.

After the bell on Thursday, Nvidia reported April quarter (fiscal first quarter) revenue of $3.21 billion (up 66% annually) and GAAP EPS of $1.98, handily beating consensus analyst estimates of $2.89 billion and $1.46. All five of Nvidia’s reported market segments — Gaming, Datacenter, Automotive, Professional Visualization and OEM & IP — beat consensus revenue estimates.

Nvidia also guided for July quarter revenue of $3.1 billion, plus or minus 2%. That implies 39% growth at the midpoint and is above a $2.95 billion consensus.

Nonetheless, shares fell 2.9% in after-hours trading to $252.55. They sold off after CFO Colette Kress stated on Nvidia’s earnings call that July quarter sales of products meant specifically for cryptocurrency miners would be around one-third of an April quarter level of $289 million (9% of Nvidia’s total revenue). GPU archrival AMD’s (AMD) shares fell 1.5% to $11.95.

After struggling for its first few years as a public company, the about-face started when CEO Chad Dickerson and other top executives were replaced in 2017. The changes have been controversial, especially among Etsy employees, but investors have certainly been happy with the simplification of growth initiatives and renewed focus on Etsy’s most important customers.

There’s a wonderful community of makers and then buyers. It’s a tough thing to compete with, even in an Amazon-led world, and it’s been a good performer. It’s a $4 billion company over at Motley Fool Rule Breakers.

Top Undervalued Stocks To Buy For 2019

I believe the European financial market contains too much risk, and one should rather invest in the American financial system because it has a lot more upward potential. I wrote that in one of my latest articles. However, there is one exception to my statement: UBS Group (NYSE:UBS). The Swiss banking group is especially strong in investment banking and asset management and will probably outperform the sector this year.

Why UBS is the exception

There are numerous reasons as to why I believe UBS Group has more potential than the rest of the European banking sector. Firstly, UBS has some making up to do in stock price. The European financial sector declined -3.7% over the last 12 months, while UBS Group declined even further to -13.36%. The main reason behind this steeper-than-average drop is the company missing its earnings in the first quarter of 2016. Ever since, their stock price has not recovered as fast as the rest of the market. This has led us to believe that UBS is slightly undervalued in comparison with the sector.

At first, the gifts seemed innocent enough: a free dinner and a private helicopter tour over the Grand Canyon. By the end of it, though, the Polish official was standing in a Warsaw parking lot, accepting $100,000 in bags of cash, given to him in exchange for multi-million-dollar government contracts.

You might be thinking that this government employee was being paid off by the mafia or some shadowy military contractor, but think again: According to the SEC and Polish prosecutors, the official was allegedly bribed by white-collar executives within Hewlett Packard (NYSE:HPQ) and IBM (NYSE:IBM), the American blue chip technology firms.

In 2014, the SEC charged HP with violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act in Poland. At the time, the agency explained HP executives “provided gifts and cash bribes worth more than $600,000 to a Polish government official to obtain contracts with the national police agency.”

Best Safest Stocks To Watch Right Now

In a junior sector that has become quite a stock-picker’s market over the past nine months, I find some of the safest and lowest risk opportunities come when a company is undergoing a major change. Atlantic Gold (OTCPK:SPVEF) was one such idea I highlighted last year, as the company was set to transform itself into Canada’s newest junior gold producer. The stock has since moved from US$0.60 to US$1.40 and the re-rating I expect has nearly come to fruition. A company with a similar profile that I’ve had my eye on was Harte Gold (OTCPK:HRTFF), but the stock got well ahead of itself earlier this year and I exited my position. Since that time the stock has spent the last six months consolidating and finally looks it may be ready to resume the new uptrend it began earlier this year.
