Hot Tech Stocks To Own Right Now

Criteo (NASDAQ:CRTO) is the French innovative advertising technology company or performance marketing company (as it prefers) we first introduced early January. The share price has performed pretty well since then, up by a good 20% since. This article tries to find out whether more gains are in store.

Criteo published Q1 figures that were quite well received. Some highlights (from the company PR and Q1CC):

Revenue excluding Traffic Acquisition Costs, or Revenue ex-TAC, grew 29% (or 30% at constant currency) to $210 million, or 41% of revenue. Adjusted EBITDA grew 16% (or 18% at constant currency) to $56 million, or 27% of Revenue ex-TAC. Cash flow from operating activities increased 134% to $44 million. Free Cash Flow increased 136% to $16 million. Net Income decreased 22% to $15 million, driven by the accounting impact of the HookLogic acquisition. Adjusted Net Income per diluted share increased 6% to $0.46. Same client revenue ex-TAC grew 15% at constant currency. Criteo added 950 net clients, a 25% increase from Q1 2016. The company now has over 15,000 e-commerce clients, retaining 90% of them. Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) was down 10%, but this is because of the strong growth (60%) of the mid-market segment (60%), which is somewhat less profitable.

Top line growth is still very good, but net income decreased considerably, although it still beat expectations by 3 cents. The reason for that is mostly the acquisition of HookLogic (a one-time equity grant, a $3.9 million intangible depreciation expense relating to the HookLogic acquisition).

Hot Tech Stocks To Own Right Now: Interpublic Group of Companies, Inc. (The)(IPG)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Laurie Kulikowski]

Current return on equity exceeded its ROE from the same quarter one year prior. This is a clear sign of strength within the company. Compared to other companies in the Media industry and the overall market, INTERPUBLIC GROUP OF COS’s return on equity significantly exceeds that of both the industry average and the S&P 500.

  • [By Laurie Kulikowski]

Net operating cash flow has significantly increased by 59.42% to $280.90 million when compared to the same quarter last year. In addition, INTERPUBLIC GROUP OF COS has also vastly surpassed the industry average cash flow growth rate of 8.14%.

  • [By Laurie Kulikowski]

Despite its growing revenue, the company underperformed as compared with the industry average of 7.2%. Since the same quarter one year prior, revenues slightly increased by 1.3%. This growth in revenue does not appear to have trickled down to the company’s bottom line, displayed by a decline in earnings per share.

  • [By Laurie Kulikowski]

Interpublic is our income play in our media universe. While other stocks we cover offer a higher yield than IPG’s 2.1%, the company’s double digit EPS growth projections for 2016 (following an estimated 18% in 2015) will also likely be a driver of outperformance for the year. While results can be somewhat volatile for IPG, we would point to record new business win backlog this year, which improves our conviction that the better than average recent organic revenue growth trends will continue next year. At 18x our 2016 EPS estimate, we find IPG shares attractive at current levels for another projected year of healthy double digit total returns.

  • [By Paul Ausick]

The Interpublic Group of Companies Inc. (NYSE: IPG) dropped about 4% Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $21.28 after closing Tuesday at $22.16. The 52-week high is $25.71. Best Tech Stocks For 2018

Citigroup’s Andrew Kaplowitz and Vladimir Bystricky visited General Electric’s (GE) gas turbine factory in South Carolina…and like what they see:

Weve only been covering GE for a couple of months, but weve been covering industrial companies for a long time and we do know a well-run facility when we see it. After visiting GEs Gas Turbine Facility in Greenville, we are more confident that GEs Power business (including the newly acquired Alstom) will be a meaningful driver of our estimated mid-teens EPS growth through 2018. We think a combination of a successful Alstom integration, the significant positive impact of GEs H Turbine ramp-up, and GEs enhanced digital capability should result in a significantly improved competitive position, enhanced ability to price, and a stronger tailwind to service for the company.

One important point to highlight before we get to the main takeaways of our meeting with GE Power management and that is service-related growth seems to be the common denominator across GEs new power portfolio…management does seem excited about the service opportunities provided by the GE-Alstom combination and the ramp-up and installation of a new generation of H Turbines. Given GEs acquisition of Alstom, GEs installed base has risen 50%, which GE can now pursue with greater service penetration. Arguably just as importantly, we get the sense that with GEs improved technology capability on the whole gas plant island, Power management feels like it can go after competitors installed base for service as well.

Best Tech Stocks For 2018: Illinois Tool Works Inc.(ITW)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By WWW.THESTREET.COM]

There are lots of stories like that out there these days. People were perplexed about the Illinois Tool Works (ITW) and Cummins Engine (CMI) and Caterpillar (CAT) quarters, but they turned out to be classic buying opportunities after years of being sell opportunities if the stocks had run. I can’t explain to you how amazing that is. Here are three stocks that have spent months and months in purgatory when they have missed or guided down or slashed forecasts. Now they are up gigantically.

Best Tech Stocks For 2018: Interpublic Group of Companies, Inc. (The)(IPG)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Laurie Kulikowski]

The debt-to-equity ratio is somewhat low, currently at 0.94, and is less than that of the industry average, implying that there has been a relatively successful effort in the management of debt levels. Although the company had a strong debt-to-equity ratio, its quick ratio of 0.96 is somewhat weak and could be cause for future problems.

Top Warren Buffett Stocks To Buy For 2018

This post was written by Bob Ciura for Sure Dividend

Bank stocks have been in rally mode since the November elections. This has made Warren Buffett even richer than he was before. Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRK.A) holds several bank stocks in its massive, $148 billion portfolio, led by U.S. Bancorp (NYSE:USB). With 85 million shares, Berkshire is U.S. Bancorp’s second-largest investor. Berkshire owns 5% of the company, in a stake worth approximately $4.3 billion.

Banks have seen their valuations rise considerably in just the past few months, as investors become more comfortable with the outlook for the financial sector.

This article will discuss why Buffett has taken such a huge ownership stake in U.S. Bancorp.

Business Overview

The biggest reason why Warren Buffett owns U.S. Bancorp is likely because of its strong management team and competitive advantages.

Last year was a record one for U.S. Bancorp. Net income reached a record of $5.9 billion. Earnings per share of $3.24 was also a record performance. Earnings per share rose 2.5% for the year. The company experienced growth across most of its key metrics.

Top Warren Buffett Stocks To Buy For 2018: SolarWindow Technologies, Inc. (WNDW)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By SEEKINGALPHA.COM]

SolarWindow Technologies, Inc. (OTCQB:WNDW) is another third-party currently engaged in research and development to incorporate one of GLW’s glass products in an innovative manner. WNDW, a leading developer of transparent electricity-generating coatings for glass windows and flexible veneers, announced its plan to develop electricity-generating flexible glass. In particular, WNDW’s scientists and engineers recently applied layers of its liquid coatings onto GLW’s Willow Glass and laminated them under conditions that simulate the high pressure and temperatures of the manufacturing processes used by commercial glass and window producers. The result was a bendable glass “veneer” which generates electricity. WNDW anticipates installing these sheets of electricity-generating glass veneers over existing office tower windows, turning buildings into vertical power generators and helping decrease their carbon footprint. The company also believes that such veneers could be applied to flat and curved surfaces on automobiles, trucks, buses, airplanes, and boats to generate onboard electrical power. WNDW’s veneer products are being developed in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory in an effort to commercialize WNDW’s products. While we saw no specific timeline for when WNDW would offer its products incorporating Willow Glass, we are once again excited by this innovative use of a GLW product.

Top Warren Buffett Stocks To Buy For 2018: Meritage Corporation(MTH)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Jason Hall]

WhenMeritage Homes Corp(NYSE:MTH) last reported earnings to wrap up fiscal 2016, it left investors with reason to be concerned. The company finished the year with strong 15% home-closing revenue growth in the fourth quarter, 19% home-closing revenue growth for the full year, and a 15% jump in earnings per share for the year. Unfortunately, the homebuilder reported that its unit sales, and that its backlog of homes on order, were down from the year-ago period in the fourth quarter — not a positive metric considering the general strength of the new homes market and the company’s success in expanding and growing in recent years.

Top 10 Stocks To Watch For 2018

CBS (CBS) is up 34.5% in 2016, but JPMorgan thinks the stock can keep going strong next year.

Analyst Alexia Quadrani reiterated an Overweight rating and $69 price target on the stock Wednesday, writing that CBSs streamlined assets and savvy management means that it should easily pass $4 in EPS this year, a target that many questioned at the start of 2016.

Quadrani believes that CBS can continue to steam ahead next year, despite the lack of the Super Bowl and political ad spending, thanks to strong content sales, although a potential tie-up with Viacom (VIAB) may remain in the spotlight near term.

More detail from her note:

. 2017 will see a difficult comp from the absence of the Super Bowl and political ad dollars, which in our estimation account for ~$200m in operating income (possibly higher depending on the ultimate amount of election spending). The largest counterbalance to this will be retransmission and reverse comp revenue. Management has previously stated growth in 2017 should outpace 2016, given 21% of the retrans and 14% of the reverse comp footprint is up for renewal; we note that of the 21%, we expect roughly half of that early in the year with Fios, with the remainder toward the end of 2017 with Dish. Combined with guidance that total retrans/reverse in 2016 should surpass $1b, and the 39% growth YTD, we believe 2017 growth should be able to at least offset the operating income deficit from the Super Bowl and political.

Top 10 Stocks To Watch For 2018: Exelon Corporation(EXC)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Horizon Investments]

For the past year, Exelon Corp. (EXC) has had a roller coaster ride, with the stock having plummeted 15% since September 2012 – the company had announced a dividend cut of 41%, which led to a drop in the share price. Separately, the recent weak PJM auction prices did not bode well for the company. However, I believe the worst is priced in the stock price, and the company’s management is committed to improving its financial flexibility and cost structure in order to strengthen its financial performance. Also, the company is planning to incur capital expenditure (CAPEX) in the upcoming years, which will result in rate base growth for Exelon.

It’s got beautiful roads that hug the Pacific coastline, but don’t be fooled. It turns out California is actually the worst state for drivers, according to a new study.

On the other hand, Iowa, a mid-western state not generally known for stunning roadway vistas, is the best state for car owners. That’s according to a Bankrate.com study that looked at six criteria, including fuel expenses, insurance costs, car thefts and auto-related fatalities.

Driving conditions: California commutes average about 26 minutes, compared to Iowa’s relatively short 19 minute drive. (New York has the longest average commute at just over 33 minutes, according to Bankrate.com.)

Costs: Insurance costs much more in California than it does in Iowa, which has the lowest average premiums in the country. Repairs are also pricier in the Golden State according to data from CarMD, averaging $895 in California compared to $637 in Iowa.
