Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.’s (NYSE: TEVA) short interest decreased to 47.70 million from the previous level of 49.03 million. Shares were trading at $23.86, in a 52-week range of $10.85 to $33.82.

As for weaker generic-drug pricing, this isn’t anything new. Generic drugmakers like Teva Pharmaceutical Industries (NYSE:TEVA) have been pressured by weaker generic drug prices since the third quarter of last year. However, weakness in pricing has recently shown signs of stabilizing. Generic drug manufacturers and Wall Street analysts both seem to believe that 2019 will offer much-needed price stabilization for generic therapies. Considering that generics make up the bulk of total written prescription — about nine out of 10 — it seems only logical that pricing power will return to generic drugmakers and distributors sooner rather than later.

Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA) was raised to Outperform from Market Perform with a $22 target price (versus a $17.63 close) at Raymond James.

Wednesday was a relatively calm day on Wall Street until the last few minutes of the trading session, as major market benchmarks didn’t initially respond in dramatic fashion to much-anticipated news on the interest rate front. As expected, monetary policy from the Federal Reserve remained consistent with the trajectory the central bank has followed for more than a year, and the target on short-term rates climbed by a quarter point to a new range of between 2% and 2.25%. That’s good news for savers, but investors seemed to see mixed implications for companies in different sectors, and a late-day sell-off sent the Dow Jones Industrial Average down more than 100 points. Some stocks also responded negatively to more specific news affecting their businesses. Southwestern Energy (NYSE:SWN), Teva Pharmaceutical Industries (NYSE:TEVA), and Chegg (NYSE:CHGG) were among the worst performers on the day. Here’s why they did so poorly.

Markets are cheering a major development in efforts to fix the ongoing trade conflict between the United States and China. According to Reuters, Chinese telecom giant ZTE has signed an agreement to get back into business with its American partners. The agreement will lift a ban by the U.S. Commerce Department that prevented China’s No. 2 telecommunications equipment from buying from U.S. suppliers. This is a major development, and one that signals progress among trade officials from both nations. There are now more job openings in the United States than available workers. This is the first time that the Department of Labor has documented this phenomenon. There are 6.7 million openings compared to the 6.4 million workers available to fill those positions. As a result, U.S. companies have been forced to increase compensation in order to attract talent. All of the positive economic development could come to a screeching halt should the U.S. experience the largest labor strike in a decade. Reports indicate that the Teamsters and the United Parcel Service (NYSE: UPS) are on a collision course that could result in a general strike. The union has announced that 260,000 UPS employees have authorized a strike should both sides fail to reach a labor deal by August 1. UPS is responsible for the transport of 6% of the nation’s gross domestic product.

Top Warren Buffett Stocks To Watch For 2019

At Berkshire Hathaway’s (NYSE:BRK-A) (NYSE:BRK-B) 2002 annual meeting, Warren Buffett was asked whether great investors are born or made. Buffett replied that he wasn’t sure how much of being a great investor was innate and how much could be learned, but he did discuss some qualities all great investors should have.

Surprisingly, a high IQ isn’t one of them. As Buffett put it, “You do not need to be terrifically smart to do well as an investor at all.” However, great investors should have certain qualities, and here are three specific traits he mentioned.

Be realistic

“You have to be realistic. You have to define your circle of competence accurately. You have to know what you don’t know, and not get enticed by it,” Buffett said.

In other words, it’s important to know your strengths and weaknesses if you want to be a great investor. This is why Buffett has historically avoided investing in tech stocks — he knows himself well enough to realize that he doesn’t understand the industry sufficiently to make smart investment decisions. However, he does understand businesses like insurance, banking, and utilities, so you’ll find quite a few of these businesses among Berkshire’s subsidiaries and stock portfolio.

The Top Stock Market Stories for Monday
Leftist Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) won Mexico’s presidential election last night. The new president is expected to inject a string of nationalist policies that counters U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent rhetoric on NAFTA and immigration. However, it’s uncertain to many how AMLO will specifically address the nation’s systemic violence, poverty, and economic distress. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the top business trade organization in the nation, has hit back on President Trump regarding tariffs. On Monday, the GOP-aligned business group launched a state-by-state campaign that will address rising costs of products to consumers due to tariffs and the potential impact on American jobs. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce was an adamant supporter of Trump’s tax policy. The White House has argued that billions of dollars in tariffs are needed to offset trade imbalances with China, the European Union, Mexico, and Canada. Tariffs on China will go into effect this week. Oil prices retreated Monday after both Russia and Saudi Arabia reported an uptick in production. Over the weekend, President Trump said that Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud agreed to pump more oil, “maybe up to 2,000,000 barrels.” However, the White House promptly walked back those statements. Meanwhile, markets continue to monitor stalling economic growth across Asia and the ongoing trade spat between the United States and other nations. The latter could weigh heavily on crude prices.
