Investment Highlights

Diversified Restaurant Holdings (NASDAQ:SAUC) is the largest franchisee of Buffalo Wild Wings (NASDAQ:BWLD). It has been exactly a year since Diversified Restaurant Holdings (DRH) spun off its underperforming segment, Bagger Dave’s (OTCQB:BDVB) and became a pure-play Buffalo Wild Wings (BWW) holding company with 65 locations in 5 states. Bagger Dave’s was a drag on DRH’s profits, and the spin-off significantly reduces the risk. David Burke, who previously served as CFO, was named CEO in early 2016. He has given guidance on a 3-year plan that will maximize cash flow to pay down debt. Unfortunately, the company was hit with numerous headwinds in 2017 such as rapidly rising wing prices and declining traffic. In Q4, wing prices have begun to stabilize, and brand revitalization from Roark Capital should improve traffic in 2018. For investors that can see past the temporary headwinds, the stock is very cheap.

In 2015, DRH acquired 18 locations in a fullylevered $54 million acquisition. At the time, it was 40% of DRH’s size. The company managed to significantly scale the business and delever administration costs at a low rate of capital with little cash. Value creation at these locations is a result of multiple expansion, debt to equity conversion, and increased cash flow. The value proposition has not changed, but the temporary headwinds have caused the stock to fall significantly from its peak in May 2017.

Hot Tech Stocks To Own Right Now

Criteo (NASDAQ:CRTO) is the French innovative advertising technology company or performance marketing company (as it prefers) we first introduced early January. The share price has performed pretty well since then, up by a good 20% since. This article tries to find out whether more gains are in store.

Criteo published Q1 figures that were quite well received. Some highlights (from the company PR and Q1CC):

Revenue excluding Traffic Acquisition Costs, or Revenue ex-TAC, grew 29% (or 30% at constant currency) to $210 million, or 41% of revenue. Adjusted EBITDA grew 16% (or 18% at constant currency) to $56 million, or 27% of Revenue ex-TAC. Cash flow from operating activities increased 134% to $44 million. Free Cash Flow increased 136% to $16 million. Net Income decreased 22% to $15 million, driven by the accounting impact of the HookLogic acquisition. Adjusted Net Income per diluted share increased 6% to $0.46. Same client revenue ex-TAC grew 15% at constant currency. Criteo added 950 net clients, a 25% increase from Q1 2016. The company now has over 15,000 e-commerce clients, retaining 90% of them. Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) was down 10%, but this is because of the strong growth (60%) of the mid-market segment (60%), which is somewhat less profitable.

Top line growth is still very good, but net income decreased considerably, although it still beat expectations by 3 cents. The reason for that is mostly the acquisition of HookLogic (a one-time equity grant, a $3.9 million intangible depreciation expense relating to the HookLogic acquisition).

Hot Tech Stocks To Own Right Now: Interpublic Group of Companies, Inc. (The)(IPG)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Laurie Kulikowski]

Current return on equity exceeded its ROE from the same quarter one year prior. This is a clear sign of strength within the company. Compared to other companies in the Media industry and the overall market, INTERPUBLIC GROUP OF COS’s return on equity significantly exceeds that of both the industry average and the S&P 500.

  • [By Laurie Kulikowski]

Net operating cash flow has significantly increased by 59.42% to $280.90 million when compared to the same quarter last year. In addition, INTERPUBLIC GROUP OF COS has also vastly surpassed the industry average cash flow growth rate of 8.14%.

  • [By Laurie Kulikowski]

Despite its growing revenue, the company underperformed as compared with the industry average of 7.2%. Since the same quarter one year prior, revenues slightly increased by 1.3%. This growth in revenue does not appear to have trickled down to the company’s bottom line, displayed by a decline in earnings per share.

  • [By Laurie Kulikowski]

Interpublic is our income play in our media universe. While other stocks we cover offer a higher yield than IPG’s 2.1%, the company’s double digit EPS growth projections for 2016 (following an estimated 18% in 2015) will also likely be a driver of outperformance for the year. While results can be somewhat volatile for IPG, we would point to record new business win backlog this year, which improves our conviction that the better than average recent organic revenue growth trends will continue next year. At 18x our 2016 EPS estimate, we find IPG shares attractive at current levels for another projected year of healthy double digit total returns.

  • [By Paul Ausick]

The Interpublic Group of Companies Inc. (NYSE: IPG) dropped about 4% Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $21.28 after closing Tuesday at $22.16. The 52-week high is $25.71. Volume reached nearly 10 million shares traded, more than double the daily average of around 3.8 million. Tuesday’s weak earnings report continued to weigh on the share price.

Description of the opportunity and investment thesis

CRHM represents a compelling risk/reward opportunity in the form of a rapidly growing leader in anesthesiology services for GIs in the US and Canada. We believe the company is undervalued on an absolute and relative basis, currently trading at a dramatically low multiple of current and future estimated free cash flow. Given the companys niche position in their market, stable business model, long runway for growth, and fears surrounding short-term operational results, we feel weve been provided with a solid margin of safety at current price levels, with the chance for 100% upside or more within 12-18 months.

Who is “the market” and how does it “want” to go down? Where’s the commandment that says stocks have to go lower? Who decides that today people who own stocks are by and large going to lose money? And why, of all things, does the market not want to go higher? Didn’t the CEO of the biggest bank, JPMorgan (JPM) , say things are great? Didn’t Wells Fargo (WFC) , after all of that scandal, still show some growth, a sign that it is putting the rough patch behind it? Didn’t Citigroup (C) have its best quarter in years? Wasn’t PNC Financial (PNC) even better, clear triumphs on every single line item? The word “perfect” comes to mind, as in Perfect National Corp. (Wells Fargo and Citigroup are part of TheStreet’s Action Alerts PLUS portfolio.)

PNC Financial Services (PNC) ended the week on a down note, despite better-than-expected first-quarter earnings.

PNC said it earned $1.96 per share on revenue that climbed6% to $3.88 billion. Analysts were looking for earnings per share of $1.83 on $3.8 billion of revenue.

A couple of analysts notes about the quarter are trickling in.

Evercore ISI’s John Pancari reitearted an Outperform rating and $139 price target:

We came away from 1Q17 results with greater confidence in our constructive view on the shares, particularly as balance sheet growth strengthens, NIM upside materializes, operative leverage improves, and credit remains contained.

Raymond James’s Michael Rose reiterated a Market Perform rating on the stock:

Excluding a positive valuation adjustment, recognition of deferred issuance costs related to the redemption of all REIT preferred securities on March 15, and fair value adjustments related to Visa Class B shares, operating EPS was also $1.96. Stronger than forecast revenue (both net interest income and fee revenue), a lower than forecast loan loss provision, and a lower than modeled tax rate more than offset higher noninterest expenses versus our model. Excluding losses on the sales of securities and the impact of mortgage servicing rights (MSR) hedging activity, we peg core EPS at $1.95.

PNC closed down 0.2% to $115.80 on Thursday.

A recent survey of 5,000 consumers conducted by LivePerson, Inc. (NASDAQ:LPSN), a leading provider of mobile and online messaging solutions, found that 55% of consumers would prefer a bot over a human, but only in situations where the bot is just as accurate as a human representative. Just over 56%, though, would rather talk to a human, as many still believe that a human will understand what they need better than a bot. A full 89% of consumers globally have a neutral or positive perception of bots in general.

Following past boom/bust cycles, the oil business appears to have bottomed in February 2016 at $27 a barrel. The bruising multi-year bust in crude oil prices was the biggest reason for the world stock market sell-off from late 2015 to early 2016 of roughly 15% overall. The cruel irony of ultra-low prices is its disruptive effect on regular exploration activity. A short-term oil market depression in expectations disproportionately slashes oil drilling activity. Oil exploration budgets for 2017 are down 65% from 2014 and the smallest in 12 years, DESPITE a record estimate for global demand next year. In the long-run, oil & gas development and production may fail to keep pace with the steady growth in total demand. Will the 2015-16 “bust” sow the seeds of the next “boom” phase in pricing?

Augmented reality (AR) has been getting a lot of attention of late.Last summer it was the blockbuster Pokemon GO game that put the technology on everyone’s radar. The rage now is apps that enable real-time overlay of images or video onto the real world: Think Snap, Inc.’s (NYSE:SNAP) new Snapchat feature, World Lenses, or its long-loved dog ears filter.

Today was a sign of a healthy market, Jim Cramer told his Mad Money viewers Thursday, as the much heralded IPO of Snap (SNAP) went off without a hitch. Cramer said there were a lot of things that could have gone wrong today, but didn’t, and that will only help bring more buyers to the stock market.

One of the biggest technology IPOs in a long long time is coming our way. Yes, we are talking about the much-talked about IPO of Snap Inc (NYSE:SNAP) the parent of Snapchat, the Venice, California-basedphoto sharing platform. The news mill has been buzzing as more and more details emerge as we near the IPO date. With the IPO just a day away, the big question to ask is whether or not Snapchat IPO is worth buying into. Can the company justify the huge valuations it is seeking?

  • [By Jon C. Ogg]

Snap Inc. (NYSE: SNAP) was started as Neutral with a $20 price target at Mizuho. Its post-IPO range is $19.75 to $29.44, and it was a $17 price at the official IPO allocation.

We’ve all been talking about how Facebook (NASDAQ:FB)has been going after Snap Inc (NYSE:SNAP), replicating its innovative features and in effect stalling user growth on the platform. There’s not much user growth to speak of on Twitter, and arguably, there isn’t too much innovation either in terms of the product. So, when big guys like Amazon go after the niche audience that does love a platform like Twitter, it can be quite unnerving. What’s more, it’s not the big guys alone. There are small players likeMastodon, which is aimed at being an “actually viable alternative to Twitter”. My colleague covered this in a recent post covering Twitter. And apparently, it’s already quite popular. To be honest, we don’t think Twitter will die anytime soon. However, it’s hard to see how Twitter will be anything more than it is today – a compelling hobby for under 5% of the world’s population.

Snapchat IPO has grabbed theattention of most investors and traders for some time now, especially after making a stellar debut, gaining more than 44% on the first day of listing. Though the Snap Inc (NYSE:SNAP) stock has lost the crown of the most successful IPO of the year since then to Mulesoft Inc (NYSE:MULE), the stock still continues to attract significant interest from investors and traders alike. Like most stocks whose valuations is based on ‘vision’ and ‘story’, SNAP stock remains a very contentious stock with asharp division within analysts and the investing community.

Top 10 Low Price Stocks To Own Right Now: Immersion Corporation(IMMR)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Jim Robertson]

On Thursday, our Under the Radar Movers newsletter suggested shorting small cap technology stock Immersion Corporation (NASDAQ: IMMR):

We love how well developed the selling of Immersion shares has been. Rather than a sharp, v-shaped reversal — which may or may not follow through — we’ve seen a bowl-shaped transition from an uptrend to a downtrend. This ups the odds of downside follow-through, as there’s been no price “shock” to invite a sudden wave of buying.

Top 10 Low Price Stocks To Own Right Now: Mastercard Incorporated(MA)

Advisors’ Opinion:

Partnerships play a crucial role in extending PayPal’s reach to new customers and driving higher engagement. The deal with Visa(NYSE:V) opened the door for partnerships with Mastercard(NYSE:MA), Citigroup(NYSE:C), and Fidelity National Information Services (NYSE:FIS). As a result, more deals will come that will increase PayPal’s relevancy and ubiquity in the mobile payment landscape.

That’s a pretty good definition of leadership, but it’s not an easy one to accomplish. However, the CEOs of Celgene (NASDAQ:CELG), Cognizant Technology Solutions (NASDAQ:CTSH), General Electric (NYSE:GE), MasterCard (NYSE:MA), and Texas Instruments (NASDAQ:TXN) have been able to achieve this translation very well.

We’ve bagged winners like the 64.3% return from Mastercard (NYSE: MA), 44.3% from Intel (Nasdaq: INTC), 38.9% from Deere (NYSE: DE) and even 101.8% from Skyworks Solutions (Nasdaq: SWKS). So it’s easy to see why this has become one of StreetAuthority’s most popular reports.

This one could be the easiest of advances, both because credit losses are down big and because its credit-card brethren — Capital One Financial, Discover, Visa (V) and MasterCard (MA) — have all had significant rallies. I actually regard this stock as inexpensive and think it can be bought here now that it has fully absorbed the loss of the Costco (COST) business to Visa and Citigroup (C) .
