Top Heal Care Stocks To Own For 2019

Peter Krauth

Trump’s win of the presidency is now official.

I’ve been joking that he’s already ordered another “Trump Tower” sign, this one to be installed on the White House. And then… he’ll have it painted gold.

All joking aside and, love him or hate him, I think the Donald is going to end up being very good for gold prices in 2017.

As news emerged that Trump’s lead was likely to stick, gold prices exploded higher to the tune of about $60 in a matter of hours. But by late afternoon the following day, nearly all of those gains had evaporated.

For gold stocks, the story was similar. But my view is this is just a temporary reprieve, one that’s an opportunity to buy gold at a temporary discount.

good stock buys

Stanley Black & Decker (SWK) has hit the sale button following the $1.95 billion acquisition of Newell Brands麓s tools business in October. The company is now selling the majority of the Mechanical Security business in a $725 million cash deal.

This portfolio management make sense from a strategic and financial point of view, an area at which Stanley has excelled in the past. Given the very modest earnings multiples on a pro-forma basis, I am compelled to pick up a few shares on any dip, as Stanley has missed the Trump election rally.

Strong management, good capital allocation decisions, good brands and a decent earnings yield should all support the long term bull case.

Getting Out Of Mechanical Security

SWK has agreed to sell BEST Access, phi Precision and GMT to dormakaba in a $725 million cash deal. The businesses involved in the deal generate $270 million in sales and $52 million in EBITDA, indicating that SWK is receiving healthy multiples for the business.

good stock buys: C.H. Robinson Worldwide, Inc.(CHRW)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Chad Tracy]

As it's known today, C.H. Robinson (Nasdaq: CHRW) has again changed with the times.

Unlike transportation industry titans FedEx (NYSE: FDX) or UPS (NYSE: UPS), C.H. Robinson does not own a fleet of trucks that transport goods. Instead, it specializes in logistics. Other companies hire C.H. Robinson to make their transportation services more efficient.

good stock buys: Cincinnati Financial Corporation(CINF)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Ben Levisohn]

Cincinnati Financial (CINF) tumbled to the bottom of the S&P 500 today after the insurer warned of larger catastrophe losses and lower reserve releases.

    Getty Images

    Cincinnati Financialdropped 6.7% to $69.91 today, while the S&P 500 declined 0.2% to 2,270.44.

Sandler O’Neil’s Paul Newsome and team explain why Cincinnati Financial got hammered today:

On January 12, 2017, before the market opened, CINF pre-announced 4Q16 catastrophe loss estimates and underwriting results. The company expects 4Q16 earnings to include pre-tax catastrophe losses of approximately $75 million to $85 million, representing an impact on the combined ratio of approximately 6.5 to 7.5 percentage points, based on estimated property casualty earned premiums…

While the press release headline led with higher catastrophe losses, the real issue was less favorable reserve development related to the companys commercial casualty line.Cincinnati Financial has been growing faster than its peers for some time. The company has been growing primarily due to geographic expansion which is better than growth through price cutting. Nevertheless, growth during a soft market is difficult and the fourth quarter profit warning will likely lead to renewed concerns thatCincinnati Financial cannot maintain its excellent profitability in its commercial insurance business.

Cincinnati Financial’s market capitalization fell to $11.5 billion today from $12.3 billion yesterday. It reported net income of $634 million on sales of $5.2 billion in 2015.

After the merger, Perion will leapfrog its much larger rivals: Babylon and AVG (AVG). Finally, Perion should be able to increase its operating margins as it can spread its SG&A costs over a much larger base (Conduit EBITDA margin is 32% vs. Perion’s 23%). Perion will keep its senior management team intact: Josef Mandelbaum will remain its CEO and Yacov Kaufman its CFO. Perion has successfully orchestrated a roll-up acquisitions of privately-held Sweetpacks and Smilebox, so I have high confidence that they know how to integrate a new business.

good stock buys: Centerra Gold Inc. (CAGDF)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By SEEKINGALPHA.COM]

The top news of the month goes to Centerra Gold (OTCPK:CAGDF), which agreed to buy Aurico Metals (OTCPK:ARCTF) for C$1.80 in cash, a 38.5% premium, at a value of C$310 million ($243 million).

  • [By SEEKINGALPHA.COM]

Centerra Gold (OTCPK:CAGDF) bought out the previous owner of the Mt. Milligan Mine, Thompson Creek Metals, which really saved the asset for Royal Gold, as I explained in a past article. Mt. Milligan contributed $31.66 million of Royal Gold’s $106.9 million revenue this past quarter, or 29.6% of total revenue. I own shares of Centerra Gold, and I think Mt. Milligan is a strong asset that will contribute tons of cash flow for Royal Gold.

Best Financial Stocks To Own For 2018

Less than 48 hours ago, many investors believed chaos was returning to the markets.

Since the beginning of the month, weve watched the financial media flip the script, tossing out their bullish narrative for a decidedly more cautious tone.

As stocks drifted lower this week, everyone was convinced the rally was finally running out of steam and ready to post its first significant pullback in months. Volatility was itching to make a comeback! The bears would finally come out of hibernation!

But stocks had other ideas.

The Dow erased its Wednesday losses and pushed higher by almost 190 points. The Nasdaq Composite jumped 1.3% to close at new highs. So much for that pullback

The bulls have a great chance to get cocky again as the market makes its final push into the holiday season. Meanwhile, the financial press is frantically digging for controversy as stocks snap back to life.

To help you fight through the noise, were going to dive below the major averages to discover exactly what the dip buyers are gobbling up as the trading week ends.

Advisors’ Opinion:

But there are still plenty of factors that are preventing stocks overall from mounting stronger gains, including nervousness about geopolitical issues as well as weaker parts of the global economy. Nevertheless, some stocks posted strong gains, and Puma Biotechnology (NASDAQ:PBYI), Applied Optoelectronics (NASDAQ:AAOI), and Ferroglobe (NASDAQ:GSM) were among the best performers on the day. Below, we’ll look more closely at these stocks to tell you why they did so well.

  • [By Lisa Levin]

Shares of Ferroglobe PLC (NASDAQ: GSM) got a boost, shooting up 10 percent to $10.17 after the company posted a narrower-than-expected Q1 loss.

Puma Biotechnology Inc (NASDAQ: PBYI) shares were also up, gaining 37 percent to $51.75 as briefing documents for Wednesday Advisory Committee meeting are published to the FDA website. The briefing docs also showed that study 3004 met prespecified primary efficacy endpoint.

how to invest money

First Trust Cloud Computing ETF (NASDAQ:SKYY) is the first and only ETF to provide exposure to the fast-growing cloud computing industry. This market segment is growing by leaps and bounds and should do so for several years to come. For example, Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) Web Services recently announced that its operating income increased from $580 million in the year-ago quarter to $926 million in the fourth quarter of 2016. Meanwhile, Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) announced that Azure revenue surged 93% year-over-year.

According to research firm IDC:

Between now and 2020, worldwide spending on public cloud services is expected to soar to more than $195 billion. This is double the revenue the industry is expected to generate by the end of 2016.

The share price of SKYY should be in the clouds, right?

Well, no. Despite the great promise for cloud computing, the ETF has not really performed much better than the S&P 500.
