Top 10 Medical Stocks To Invest In 2019: Continental Resources, Inc.(CLR)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Reuben Gregg Brewer]

Oil prices are higher today than they were just a couple of years ago, after starting to rebound in early 2016. So it isn’t as easy to find the kinds of deals Franco-Nevada was inking not too long ago. But Franco-Nevada still sees value in the energy space — if the right deal is available. For example, it just partnered up with Continental Resources, Inc. (NYSE:CLR).

  • [By Shane Hupp]

Clearwater Seafoods (TSE:CLR) declared a quarterly dividend on Tuesday, May 8th, Zacks reports. Shareholders of record on Saturday, May 19th will be given a dividend of 0.05 per share on Friday, June 1st. This represents a $0.20 dividend on an annualized basis and a yield of 3.96%. The ex-dividend date of this dividend is Thursday, May 17th.

  • [By Dan Caplinger]

What could become a key to Franco-Nevada’s turnaround is a recent deal with Continental Resources (NYSE:CLR). Under the strategic relationship, Franco-Nevada will pay $220 million to obtain existing mineral rights that Continental controls. Moreover, the streaming and royalty company will commit as much as $100 million a year for three years to acquire new mineral rights. That led Franco-Nevada to upgrade its long-term oil and gas outlook as well, with the potential to get as much as $120 million to $140 million in revenue by 2022. If achieved, that could begin to make oil and gas almost equally important for Franco-Nevada as precious metals.

Since oil prices peaked in 2014, both Total and Shell have managed to generate positive total returns for investors who held through the downturn, in large part because of their diverse operations. Neither has come close to outperforming the S&P 500, but it could have been far worse; one only has to look at some of the biggest independent oil producers, including Apache Corporation (NYSE:APA) (down 53%), Anadarko Petroleum Corporation (NYSE:APC) (down 33%), and Continental Resources, Inc. (NYSE:CLR) (down 12.3%) to appreciate the benefit of Total’s and Shell’s more diversified operations.

Top 10 Medical Stocks To Invest In 2019: Snap Inc. (SNAP)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Dan Caplinger]

The stock market didn’t see much in the way of sustained movement Wednesday, with the major market indexes finished mixed, but close to where they began the day. Various cross-currents pushed shares higher and lower throughout the day, including the potential for a breakthrough on the trade front, and nervousness about the directions of interest rates and monetary policy both in the U.S. and internationally. Weighing on sentiment was bad news from some key individual companies that sent their respective stocks lower. Snap (NYSE:SNAP), Fitbit (NYSE:FIT), and ASML Holding (NASDAQ:ASML) were among the worst performers on the day. Below, we’ll look more closely at these companies to tell you why their shares fared so poorly.

Four Stocks to Watch Today: UL, SSNLF, TSLA, SNAP
Snap Inc. (NYSE: SNAP) is absolutely certain that it will become profitable in 2019. Despite the stock falling more than 45% this year and it now where close to its IPO, a company memo was leaked from a top executive that they have a goal of profitability for the full year of 2019. And it seems that a few investors are willing to believe them as shares are up 3.2% this morning. Keep in mind that this memo was leaked after the stock took a 5% hit on Thursday. Today, conglomerate Unilever NV (NYSE: UL) announced that it has abandoned a plan to move its operating headquarters out of the United Kingdom to the Netherlands. The move was originally announced ahead of the Brexit, which continues to barrel forward with tremendous uncertainty for politicians, citizens, and UK-based companies. The firm’s stock was off nearly 1% after it announced that a “significant group of shareholders” did not support the relocation plan. Shares of Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA) fell 4.4% after CEO Elon Musk made a rather reckless accusation at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Musk referred to the SEC as the “Shortseller Enrichment Commission.” His mocking comes just days after Musk settled fraud charges stemming back to his claims in August that he had failed to inform the agency about material company events and misled investors that he had secured funding to take Tesla private. As part of the settlement, Musk also agreed to step down from his role of chair for at least three years and to have his Twitter messages vetted by company officials to

Top Blue Chip Stocks To Buy For 2019

Should I stay or should I go?

If you’ve been singing this 1981 tune by the English punk rock band The Clash to yourself since late September, you are not alone.

In the fourth-quarter selloff last year, U.S. equities lost $4 trillion in combined market value. For those who had chosen to stay and not to go, a sharp market bounce has helped recover much of the losses: after the 17% rally off the December low, the S&P 500 has now returned to early January 2018 levels.

For the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100, the decline was deeper, but the bounce was sharper. At its lowest levels of 2018, the Nasdaq was down 23% from its highs. Since its December lows, though, it has rallied some 19%.

As a result, the Nasdaq is now higher by about 10% from its 2017 levels.

Top Blue Chip Stocks To Buy For 2019: Plains All American Pipeline L.P.(PAA)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

Plains All American Pipelines’ (NYSE:PAA) turnaround strategy continued paying dividends during the fourth quarter. The oil pipeline-focused MLP’s financial results surged thanks to recently completed expansion projects, as well as its ability to capitalize on issues in the oil market, which enabled it to deliver earnings and cash flow well above its guidance. That strong showing has the company on track for continued success in 2019.

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

Two years ago, Plains All American Pipeline (NYSE:PAA) and Plains GP Holdings (NYSE:PAGP) took a step to simplify their corporate structure by eliminating the costly incentive distribution rights (IDRs) that Plains All American paid to Plains GP. In exchange, Plains GP acquired a 34.8% stake in the MLP. While that deal was certainly a step in the right direction, the companies could eventually take the next logical progression by combining into one entity.

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

Currently, three major oil pipelines are on pace to start service in late 2019. They include Plains All American Pipeline’s (NYSE:PAA) 670,000-BPD Cactus II, the up-to-1-million-BPD Grey Oak Pipeline by Phillips 66 Partners (NYSE:PSXP) and Andeavor (NYSE:ANDV), and the private equity–backed EPIC pipeline that could move up to 675,000 BPD. Add it up, and that’s more than 2 million BPD of pipeline capacity. Meanwhile, Energy Transfer and Magellan Midstream are expanding several existing lines, which could add another 400,000 BPD next year. On top of that, Plains All American Pipeline is working with oil giant ExxonMobil (NYSE:XOM) on a 1 million-BPD oil pipeline as well as expanding several other smaller pipelines as fast as it can.

Lower oil prices cut deeply into the company’s earnings and cash flow, putting pressure on its balance sheet. However, the company has undertaken several strategic initiatives in recent quarters to overcome those issues, which finally started paying dividends in the first quarter.

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

In addition, the company’s Advantage Pipeline joint venture (JV) with Plains All American Pipeline (NYSE:PAA) has been exceeding expectations since it began last year. Noble Midstream and Plains All American might need to expand that pipeline even further.

Top Blue Chip Stocks To Buy For 2019: Vanguard Extended Duration Treasury ETF (EDV)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By ]

My preferred fund here is Vanguard Extended Duration Treasury ETF (NYSE: EDV), which owns a basket of long-term, zero-coupon bonds. It’s better-known, larger, and, most important, cheaper than its competitor PIMCO 25+ Year Zero Coupon U.S. Treasury Index Exchange-Traded Fund (NYSE: ZROZ). Both are poised to rally if deflation hits and the stock market falls. But EDV is cheaper, at only 0.07% expense ratio, compared with ZROZ’s 0.15%, and so it’s the one that makes the cut.

Sandstorm’s due diligence is thorough, they don’t just invest in any company. They like West Africa because they understand the area and the opportunities that exist there. Sandstorm is a royalty and streaming company, so they make these investments and receive cashflow deals that often kick in much later on. But they have already established a presence in Burkina and have deals in place with larger companies like Orezone Gold (TSXV: ORE) and Endeavour Mining (TSX: EDV). Sandstorm’s investment also potentially gives us access to their marketing department through something they call Launch Lab, and it looks like it will really benefit our own marketing efforts and will expose us to more opportunities over the coming year.

Top 10 Clean Energy Stocks To Own For 2019

The IPO market may not be at the go-go levels of the late 1990s, but the environment is still fairly bullish. This is especially the case with technology companies and biotechs. Note that there have been ten deals that have posted returns of over 100%.

However, by August, the IPO market will essentially close down. This is normal, as many investors will be on vacation.

OK then, so for the next couple weeks, what are the interesting deals that will hit the market? Well, Let’s take a look at five:

IPOs to Watch: Bloom Energy

Bloom Energy, which was founded in 2002, is a high-profile Silicon Valley clean energy operator. A system can produce 250 kilowatts of power in half the size of a standard 30-foot shipping container. Customers include biggies like Home Depot (NYSE:HD), AT&T (NYSE:T) and Kaiser Permanente.

This morning, President Trump suggested that the United States is considering strong military action in response to recent chemical attacks carried out on civilians by the Syrian government. The president promised to send “nice and new and ‘smart'” missiles to Syria and accused the Russian government of partnering with a “Gas Killing Animal who kills his people and enjoys it!” The president’s remarks are a significant departure from comments made last week, which suggested that the United States would be pulling out of Syria in the coming months. Trump’s threat of war over a recent chemical attack in Syria drove crude oil and gold prices higher. Geopolitical worries often offer a boost to commodity prices due to concerns about supply. Trump’s threat comes at a time that markets are already concerned about a significant military conflict in the Middle East between Saudi Arabia and Iran. WTI crude prices added 0.9% to hit $66.10 per barrel. Brent crude pushed to $71.10 per barrel. Gold price topped $1,350 per ounce and are poised for bigger gains. According to Axios, U.S. Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-WI) has privately told friends that he will not seek reelection in the fall. The news comes at a perilous time for Republicans, who are expected to lose the House of Representatives and potentially the Senate. Axios was the first to report the news. The story is also notable because Ryan recently achieved his long-time goal of passing tax reform in late 2017.
