By Fred McClimans and John Freeman, Samadhi Partners Equity Research.

Over the past six months, three of our equity picks in the Samadhi Capital Client Portfolio have been acquired: ARM Holdings (ARM), by the Japanese firm Softbank; Infoblox (NYSE:BLOX), by the private equity firm Vista Equity Partners; and InvenSense (NYSE:INVN), by Japanese electronic-parts maker TDK Corp. Together, these gems represented over $33.8b in M&A value.

While we are focused on ensuring our portfolio companies have what it takes to be long-term over-performers, there’s nothing quite like having your hard work and research validated by an outside firm that sees the same value we do (and is willing to put the cash on the table to prove it).

Rather than rest on our 2016 laurels, we’re back at it, scouring through the companies in our portfolio and on our “watch list” to identify those that we feel have the right stuff to make a compelling acquisition target in 2017 (no pretenders here, we routinely rank every company in our portfolio and watch list as part of our research process).

If only one of the companies in IYT appear to be undervalued, it might give you pause about how brightly the ETF will shine in the very near future.

As it's known today, C.H. Robinson (Nasdaq: CHRW) has again changed with the times.

Unlike transportation industry titans FedEx (NYSE: FDX) or UPS (NYSE: UPS), C.H. Robinson does not own a fleet of trucks that transport goods. Instead, it specializes in logistics. Other companies hire C.H. Robinson to make their transportation services more efficient.

The Q4 2016 earnings report for small cap hardwood flooring stockLumber Liquidators Holdings Inc (NYSE: LL) is scheduled for before the market opens onTuesday (February 21th). Lumber Liquidators Holdingshad been ahighflying stock until the middle of 2013 when shares were hit be allegations that the companys flooring products contained illegal levels of formaldehyde. Shares then took another hit on reports that the Department of Homeland Security andthe USFish and Wildlife Servicehad executed a sealed court-issuedsearch/raid on theheadquarters for possible sourcing violations.Lumber Liquidators Holdingslater won a favorable ruling in a California lawsuit filed under the state’s Proposition 65 covering cancer-causing chemicals and agreed to pay $2.5 million (without admitting wrongdoing) to settle a civil matter with the California Air Resources Board.

If you remember about a year ago, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention let the world know that consumers who had purchased the China-produced flooring from Lumber Liquidators Holdings (NYSE:LL) were roughly three times more likely to fall ill with cancer. That rate was much higher than earlier calculations following the 2015 broadcast by CBS’ 60 Minutes. The stock shed much of its value since the 2015 airing, but rebounded 17% on Tuesday after it reported a narrower-than-expected loss during the fourth quarter, offering investors a slight amount of hope going forward.

Shares ofLumber Liquidators Holdings, Inc.(NYSE:LL) were moving higher last month, though there was little company-specific news out on the stock. The retailer of wood flooring and other related products had been battered in recent years after a scandal involving illegally treated flooring, but investor confidence seemed to be returning along with a general uptick in home-improvement stocks. According to data from S&P Global Market Intelligence, the stock rose 18.4% in March.

investing forum: ENERGY TRANSFER PARTNERS(ETP)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Laurie Kulikowski]

Along with the very weak revenue results, ETP underperformed when compared to the industry average of 36.8%. Since the same quarter one year prior, revenues plummeted by 55.8%. Weakness in the company’s revenue seems to have hurt the bottom line, decreasing earnings per share.

Double digit distribution secure, market underappreciates ETE support. We believe ETP has outlined a clear path to funding needed through YE16, after which ETP should start to realize the benefit of the ~$10bn of projects under construction. The ~$2.2bn drop down to SUN announced at the recent Analyst Day pre-funds nearly 70% of planned 2016 equity needs, with the potential for non-core asset sales and/or IDR waivers on future equity issuance to cover the balance. ETE’s growth depends upon a strong ETP, and we believe ETE will do what it takes to defend ETP.

That includes pipeline companies like Kinder Morgan Inc. (NYSE: KMI), which already operates a pipeline transporting natural gas from Texas into Mexico, and master limited partnerships (MLPs) Energy Transfer Partners L.P. (NYSE: ETP) and TransCanada Corp. (NYSE: TRP), the company that has (so far) failed to get U.S. approval for its Keystone Pipeline expansion from Canada’s oil sands across the U.S. border.

investing forum: Aurora Cannabis Inc. (ACBFF)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Keith Speights]

As increasingly more marijuana growers entered the market and more states allowed residents to legally grow marijuana, cannabis prices dropped throughout 2016. Wholesale marijuana prices late in the year were roughly half the levels of 12 months earlier. Will this trend continue — and possibly hurt leading marijuana stocks including Aphria (NASDAQOTH:APHQF),Aurora Cannabis (NASDAQOTH:ACBFF), Medical Marijuana,Inc.(NASDAQOTH:MJNA), and even GW Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:GWPH) in the process?

  • [By SEEKINGALPHA.COM]

This article is for those who are hopeful of the long-term view and want to get in ahead of time. This article will compare the three front-runners of the Canadian cannabis industry, Canopy Growth Corp. (OTCPK:TWMJF), Aphria (NYSE:APH), and Aurora (OTCQX:ACBFF). Although these companies will soon have to prove themselves in a new environment, there is plenty to study right now. We will be comparing revenue growth, production capacity, valuations, and then making financial projections. The result will be a recommendation of Aurora followed by Canopy. Again this article is meant to compare competitors. The industry has the potential to be a 22.6B industry but the thesis for investing in Canadian cannabis is a separate topic and I encourage you to consider the risks.

Todays North Channel Investment article will look at Aurora Cannabis Inc. (OTCQX:ACBFF), and why they could be very appealing to any investor looking for a stock that has great potential for long-term growth.
