Small cap police body cam stockDigital Ally, Inc (NASDAQ: DGLY) reported Q1 2017 earnings before the market opened today. Total Q1 revenue increased 19% to approximately $5.2 million primarily due to the large commercial order received in the first quarter 2017 from AMR for DVM-250 event recorders with FleetVU and asset tracking service. The AMR contract was for 1,550 DVM-250 systems as well as FleetVU manager cloud storage and system implementation, most of which were delivered in first quarter 2017 and had a positive impact on revenues. The CEO commented:

“We are excited to report that first quarter revenues were up 19% from prior-year levels and 52% on a sequential basis. We shipped more mirrors in first quarter 2017 than any quarter since 2010 and our service revenues were up 71% in the three months ended March 31, 2017 compared to year-earlier levels. Our strategy of expanding our recurring service-based revenue to help stabilize and grow our revenues on a quarterly basis is apparent in our first quarter 2017 results.”

In what is becoming old hat for investors, after Mastercard Inc (NYSE:MA) reported its first-quarter earnings, shares popped on the news even as the rest of the market trended downward. Not only did the payments network beat expectations when it reported its results earlier this month, it also raised its full-year guidance. The jump in share price, of course, was accompanied by another strong performance from the company’s fundamentals.

Best Small Cap Stocks To Invest In 2019: Retail Opportunity Investments Corp.(ROIC)

Advisors’ Opinion:

Brian Feroldi(Retail Opportunity Investment Corp): Between rising interest rate and the recent troubles of the retail industry, it’s not hard to figure out whyRetail Opportunity Investments Corp (ROIC) has underperformed the S&P 500 over the past year. The company’s business model is to buygrocery-anchored shopping centers in high-traffic areas and then lease out space to high-quality tenants. The business is structured as a real-estate investment trust, so the vast majority of profits are passed along to shareholders as a dividend (which currently yields 4.2%). Given the recent tidal wave of retail bankruptcies, it’s understandable why Wall Street isn’t feeling great about this business right now.

Best Small Cap Stocks To Invest In 2019: California Grapes International, Inc. (CAGR)

Advisors’ Opinion:

It is hard to fully wrap your hands around the potential market opportunity that Accenture will have in the years ahead but I believe that the opportunities are almost endless (dramatic, I know). For example, consider these forecasts that Forbes detailed in its “2017 Roundup Of Internet Of Things Forecast” report:

According to Bain, “B2B IoT segments will generate more than $300B annually by 2020, including about $85B in the industrial sector”. According to PwC, “$6T will be spent on IoT solutions between 2015 and 2020”. According to Accenture, “Industrial Internet Of Things could add $14.2T to the economy by 2020”. According to Statista, “The global Internet of Things (IoT) market is projected to grow from $2.99T in 2014 to $8.9T in 2020, attaining a 19.92% Compound Annual Growth Rate (OTCPK:CAGR). Industrial manufacturing is predicted to increase from $472B in 2014 to $890B in global IoT spending. Healthcare and life sciences are projected to increase from $520B in 2014 to $1.335T in 2020, attaining a 17% CAGR”.

The forecasts compiled by Forbes are all over the place but one thing is consistent, that is, the growth potential for IoT (and the sub-industries) is real. Connected things are expected to experience significant growth and I believe that it is hard to deny that digital will play a key role in the future growth of the global economy.
